Month-Old Girl Rescued from Gaza Rubble After Deadly Airstrike

Gaza: In Gaza, a 25-day-old baby girl named Ella Osama Abu Dagga was pulled from the rubble of a collapsed apartment building in Khan Younis after an airstrike killed her parents, her brother, and other family members.

Rescuers heard the baby’s cries under the debris and quickly dug her out, wrapping her in a blanket before rushing her to an ambulance where paramedics attended to her.

The airstrike, part of Israel’s heavy renewed strikes that shattered the recent ceasefire with Hamas, hit an area already ordered to be evacuated. Eyewitnesses and rescue workers reported that the building collapse left many dead and injured. One civil defense first responder described how the baby had been trapped since dawn, crying until rescuers finally freed her.

The tragedy comes amid ongoing violence in Gaza where Israel’s air and ground attacks have resulted in hundreds of casualties in recent days. Local authorities report that nearly 600 people have been killed since the fighting resumed, with many victims being women and children. The incident highlights the harsh reality for civilians in a region where conflict continues to erupt suddenly and with devastating consequences.

Only the baby’s grandparents survived the strike. Neighbors recalled that families were enjoying a peaceful Ramadan night until the attack, and now they face the loss of multiple loved ones, with the survival of this infant offering a small glimmer of hope amid the ongoing crisis.
